Jim Antle, the magazine’s executive editor, brings to life the pages of the Washington Examiner’s latest edition in the show Inside Scoop. Each episode features exclusive insight from the article authors and expert analysis.
“The mayor of New York, because the city is basically as big as many states, becomes a very important political figure,” Antle said. “They often play an important leadership role within their political parties. Mamdani has shown us there is always a welcome mat to the Oval Office and to the White House for the New York mayor, even in cases where you wouldn’t expect the mayor and the president to have anything in common.”
Next in the show, Antle is joined by Washington Examiner senior editor Peter Laffin to discuss the new angle for the Restoring America series. Laffin writes in this week’s cover article that it’s time for conservatives to discuss and debate the future.
“It’s become clear that the Right, conservatives in America just don’t agree on very much right now,” Laffin said.
The new angle for Restoring America is shifting from unified conservative messaging to hosting open, structured debates among conservatives themselves. The new series will allow think tanks to argue their views on important issues facing Americans, such as national security, the border, and the economy.
“We thought it would be more useful to, instead of having think tanks speaking in chorus, let’s argue it out, and let’s try and get to a consensus,” Laffin said.
Lastly in the show, Trump‘s approval rating has fallen to an all-time low, and no demographic is less likely to approve of him than young women. Conn Carroll explores why women are moving to the left.
“Young women are not moving left because of one issue or one man,” Carroll writes. “They are moving left because nearly every institution shaping their lives — social media, college, identity politics, delayed marriage, and friendship networks — frames gender relations as a struggle for power rather than a basis for partnership.” Tune in each week at washingtonexaminer.com and across all our social media platforms to go behind the headlines in the Washington Examiner’s magazine show, Inside Scoop.
